I had a meeting last week with Deborah (Debbie) Cooper, VP of Mechanics Bank - Office Manager of the Lafayette Branch and Randy Williams, CEO of the Keiretsu Private Equity Group. I am a member of this group, that has over 750 members and a large representation in the East Bay, and a good friend of Randy.
Mechanics Bank and Keiretsu want to promote the local wine and the Lamorinda Winegrowers Association. They have agreed to sponsor an event at the Bank facilities in Walnut Creek: 1350 North Main Street on October 15th at 5:30pm.
We need to clarify details but it seems that they will provide space (at the Bank) as well as Snacks/Cheese, etc...
Some well known Wineries from Napa/Sonoma (friends of Randy) will be represented at the event and should allocate their wine.
The invitations from the Bank and from Keiretsu Group should emphasize the local winegrowers activities/status/plans and may attract a reasonable number of guests.
I will be traveling/out of the country until late first week of September but would like to coordinate/schedule a meeting possibly for the second week of September, including members of the Board of the Association, with Debbie, to discuss details related to the event and how the Association could be appropriately represented/participate.
My understanding is that all members of the Association would be welcomed as guests at the event.
