Subject: Special Election for January 31 Membership Meeting
Association Bylaws require that we elect Officers and Directors for a 2 year tenure with elections of officers and directors split on an annual basis for the 9 positions with 2 Officers and 2 directors elected one year and 2 officers and 3 directors the next year. Based upon motions made and carried at our last meeting there will be a special election for President and Secretary for this upcoming meeting on January 31 with all other directors remaining in effect until the July meeting.
Any members with a desire to participate and to help shape the future of our Association are encouraged to seek election with notification on our website of your intent to seek election along with any statement you’d like to provide to the membership for their consideration including which position you are seeking . All notifications must be received on the website by December 20, 2009. Candidates must be in “good standing” on December 20th (dues paid to date).
We will then prepare a ballot of interested parties/positions and list them on the website for voting. Family memberships have 2 votes and Individual memberships have 1 vote. All voters must be in good standing at the time of their vote (dues paid to date). Voting ends January 22nd. The Board will tally the votes for presentation to the membership at the meeting on the 31st.
The Board has determined that we establish a non-voting ex-officio Immediate Past President position on the Board to retain the knowledge and perspective that past Presidents can provide to the Board and Membership as we go forward.

Bill Massarweh Nomination
I would like to nominate Bill Maaarweh for the office of president of the Lamorinda Winegrowers Association. As a board member, I have seen first-hand Bill's dedication to the organization, not only as a winegrower/maker, but as a person with insight and a vision for moving the organization forward and in the right direction.
In the past few months, working with Bill and the board, we have put in place the much needed infrastructure for a non-profit organization to adhere to its bylaws and succeed as a community organization. I believe that under Bill's leadership, we can only build on this momentum to grow the Lamorinda Winegrowers Association to the stature that its founders' envisioned and its members want and expect.
Nominations
I would like to nominate Tony Rillo for the position of President. Having known Tony for only a short period of time I have come to appreciate his desire to put the LAMORINDA Winegrowers Association on the map and eventually make LAMORINDA a destination for wine tasting / tours. He is dedicated to the association based on his attendence and helping at the various local events. He has a number of ideas to stimulate interest and participation in our association.
Tom Morehouse for Secretary
I would like to nominate Tom Morehouse for Secretary , Tom Has been a viable member and I know he will add value as we move forward to making Lamorinda a stop to taste Fantastic wines.
