Vineyard Pruning @ Napa Valley College
Tom Moorhouse and I are attending this class. The instructor is Dr. Krebs. This is an excellent class, consisting of 3 lecture meetings and 3 lab meetings (in the vineyard). We got a lot of hands-on experience in the NVC vineyard. We have gotten extensive information on pruning techniques, physiological information of grape vines, and affects of pruning on growth the following season. I will plant this coming spring. This class seems to me to be a great starting point to learn about viticulture. However many of the students are professionals in viticulture and have been very helpful.

Vine pruning
Certainly worth raising the knowledge base of our LAMORINDA team. We (Myself, Susan & our kids) took the same class at Santa Rosa College 3 years ago and it is deffinately worth doing for anybody who has vines. Go LMWGA.

Napa Valley College - Vineyard Pruning Class
Henry;
This is Bill Massarweh. I took this class last year with my wife. I beleive that the information gained in this class in such a short 3 week period is invaluable to anyone growing grapes.
First of all you are correct that not only does one learn how to prune a vine, the most basic and most important aspect of growing grapes, but one also learns about the biology of how vines grow and produce grapes. Fascinating and valuable information.
The fact that you and Tom Morehouse are taking the class is great. In fact, last year it happened that Tony De Venuta was in the same class with me.
