Announcement of Candidacy For President

I am today announcing my candidacy for the presidency of the Lamorinda Winegrowers Association.

As an active and current board member of the organization I have seen the organization grow over the past year and the list of accomplishments include membership in both the Lafayette and Moraga Chambers of Commerce, increased community visibility and recognition of the Lamorinda Winegrowers Association as a group, and increased commitments by a growing number of members to do their part in continuing the growth of the organization.

While the start-up growth of the infrastructure of the organization has been somewhat slower than anticipated, I believe that the next few years pose a tremendous opportunity for all of us to make permanent the newfound recognition of the Lamorinda Winegrowers Association and to make the Lamorinda wine growing region a well-known, respected and desired grape and winemaking appellation.

I wish to personally thank David Parker for his service as President, and look forward to his valuable and continued input in the years to come.

A great deal of organizational infrastructure is now in place both in terms of people and systems. The Board is moving ever forward toward implementing more changes that will add to this infrastructure. Changes that include conducting surveys, reorganizing the committees, writing charters for each committee, producing a brochure, new logo, educational material, guest speakers, and increased involvement in the community and with winegrower groups and individuals.

Together, we can make this happen!
