May 1 is Just Around the Corner!

It’s spring and what a more beautiful setting to celebrate the new season than the Thal Vineyard in Lafayette. Esther and Larry Thal have graciously offered to host the next general meeting at their 2,200 vine Thal Vineyard, planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc.

If you haven’t been to an LWGA meeting in awhile, let your membership lapse or are interested in becoming a member, join us at 3 p.m. for a meet and greet, followed by Guest Speaker, Michael Brill Newman (link to bio), whose presentation, To Be or Not to Be an AVA. That is the Question, will be of interest to all. A short business meeting will follow.

Weather permitting, the meeting will be held poolside and the Thals remind everyone to bring a hat. Members are encouraged to bring light hors d’oeuvres, cheese, fruit or crackers and a bottle of wine to share.

From CA-24 EAST toward Walnut Creek:
• Take CA-24 EAST toward Lafayette/Walnut Creek.
• Take the Central Lafayette/Oak Hill Road exit.
• Turn LEFT onto Oak Hill Rd.
• Turn RIGHT onto Deer Hill Rd.
• Turn LEFT onto Laurel Dr.

From CA-24 WEST toward Oakland:
• Take CA-24 WEST toward Lafayette/Oakland.
• Take the Central Lafayette exit.
• Keep LEFT.
• Stay straight through the stop light onto Laurel Dr.

Parking:
The house is located at the top of the hill, approximately two-fifths of a mile after you enter onto Laurel Drive. The entrance is gated. Push the intercom button on the left side of the gate. Proceed to the top of the driveway and bear left, where you will find plenty of parking.
