what am I doing with my vines 6/17/2009

Hi all, I am trying this page, I did simple hedging and lateral (secondary shoot)removal yesterday, all my vines are doing great and I have not watered yet this year! today the weather turned! I am keeping an eye on the vines for any heat stress...... I will try and blog again when I start watering!
I hope that you all would try this mean of communication. ask a question and maybe you will get an answer.

Watering
We did not start watering until the 2nd week of June, and then just twice a week for 90 minutes each time.
With all the recent heat, we had to change ot three times a week, starting the 3rd week of July, 2009.
Thus, now in July we are using 5,000 gallons a month on our 461 vines. Water is scarce around here, by the way.
We are 2 miles behind St. Mary's college in Moraga, CA
